Japan Meets European Chalet Aesthetic

Karamatsu Chalet is the more intimate of the two residences that make up the Niseko Mori enclave, situated in the sought-after Annupuri district of Niseko. Designed as a companion to its larger counterpart, Shirakaba, Karamatsu delivers the same level of luxury, comfort, and amenity within a more compact and private alpine retreat.

Architecturally, Karamatsu is closely aligned with the overarching design vision of Niseko Mori. The chalet draws inspiration from classic European mountain lodges, carefully layered with subtle Japanese design influences that reflect the local alpine environment. The composition emphasizes warmth, simplicity, and craftsmanship, resulting in a contemporary ski home that feels both refined and understated.

The arrival sequence leads into a thoughtfully designed genkan, which opens toward the heart of the residence. From this point, views extend through the living spaces to the Mount Annupuri ski slopes beyond. In winter months, the illuminated ski runs provide a striking visual connection to the surrounding landscape, reinforcing the chalet’s relationship with its setting.

The primary living areas are arranged in an expansive open-plan layout, allowing for relaxed family living and entertaining. Distinct zones within the space are subtly defined by fireplaces, creating intimate gathering areas while preserving a sense of openness and continuity throughout the interior.

Accommodation is located on the upper level, which is divided into two private wings. These wings house generous master bedroom suites alongside additional guest rooms, each designed to offer comfort, privacy, and tranquil mountain views.

Karamatsu offers a more intimate expression of alpine luxury within Niseko Mori, providing a sophisticated yet welcoming retreat that complements its larger sister chalet while standing confidently on its own.
